- Dysphagia, vomiting, foreign body in the oesophagus, perforation od the oesophagus (traumatic, iatrogenic).
- Oesophagostenosis – oesophageal cancer, functional impairments, inflammatory conditions
- Early diagnosis of tumours of the upper alimentary tract
- Bleeding from the upper alimentary tract: ulcerative disease, cancer, iatrogenic injury
- Diseases of the stomach and the duodenum: role of X-ray and endoscopy in diagnostics; treatment of complications in ulcerative disease – perforation, ulcer bleeding, gastric carcinoma, polyps, inflammatory conditions, haemorrhagic gastritis.
